Becoming Catholic, Jr

Is your elementary student ready to take their next steps in faith? This unique two-year program gently guides children in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade into a lifelong friendship with Christ while embedding them in a vibrant, age-appropriate community of peers.

Year 1: Building Community
Children are placed in small, grade-level peer groups to build lasting friendships. We meet during KidMin every Sunday from 9:45 AM – 11:15 AM (September through May).

Year 2: Sacramental Preparation
Students dive deeper into Church teachings and prepare to receive the beautiful Sacraments of Baptism (if needed), Reconciliation, and First Holy Communion. Children will continue to meet for Sunday KidMin classes and will also attend additional Becoming Catholic Jr. Prep Classes that will meet on select Sundays (September through May) in the afternoon. 

Designed for middle and high school students seeking to enter the Church or catch up on their Sacraments, this program provides a welcoming path to receiving Baptism (if needed), Reconciliation, and First Holy Communion.

To ensure our older students grow in both community and knowledge, the program features two essential components:

Year 1: Building Community (MSM or HSM)
Students join their peers for dynamic large-group ministry from September through May:

1. Middle School Ministry (MSM | Grades 6–8): Meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM.
2. High School Ministry (HSM | Grades 9–12): Meets once monthly on Sundays.

Year 2: Sacramental Preparation
While continuing their community nights with MSM or HSM, students will also attend a casual, engaging classroom session on Sundays (September through May). Here, they dive deeper into Church teachings and directly prepare to receive their Sacraments.
