Real Christian love is not warm feelings or surface-level politeness. True love requires us to step directly into life's tough, messy realities—confronting conflict, extending undeserved mercy, releasing resentments, and putting others ahead of ourselves.
Over five weeks, Tough Love: Love When It's Hard dives deep into the Gospel of Matthew and St. Paul’s letters to discover that Christian love is active, radical, and costly. We don't love this way out of sheer willpower or self-help techniques, but because Jesus first loved us. Join us as we learn how to dismantle bad habits like gossip, bitterness, and passive-aggressiveness, and anchor our hearts in the overwhelming grace of Christ.
Join us for a Morning of Reflection on Sat. October 17, from 8:30 am - 12 pm.
In our Tough Love Message series, we have been looking at what Jesus asks us to do when loving the people around us is difficult. In our time together, we will share morning refreshments, biblical reflection and discussion, as well as individual guided exercises and tools, and shared prayer to find peace and hope in these difficult relationships. The goal of our time will be to become more peaceful in the knowledge that we cannot change others; we can only change ourselves.
RSVP by October 14 ($5/person).
Optional: Bring a bible and journal if you want.
